Student Art is at the Longmont Library!

Central Artists' Work is at Longmont Public Library!  As an ACTION project, we created Animal Pictures to help support the New Nature Foundation (www.newnaturefoundation.org ) which is a non-profit 501c3 that, "...strives to conserve wild animals and wild places through education, empowerment, and an emphasis on creative solutions that promote people living in harmony with nature.

Kindergarten Round Up Time

It is time to enroll your 4-5* year old for KINDERGARTEN! We are currently accepting enrollment for the 2016-2017 School year for kindergarteners.  Packets are available in the office between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm weekdays.  If you live in our attendance area, (Main St-Hover, and 1st Ave-9th Ave), please bring in your child's birth certificate, a copy of their immunizations and a proof of residency (City utility bill, etc).  Central offers two full day kindergarten sessions and one half day morning class.

Education Foundation for the St Vrain Valley Grants

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the following Central Elementary teachers who received classroom grants from the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley at a reception on October 27, 2015!  

5th Grade Ski Trip Fundraising Update

Thank you very much to all the families that supported the Butter Braids fundraiser last month!  The students are getting close to their goal of raising $4,200.00!  The ski trip is a special culmination of the students' years at Central and is a reward for their hard work.  Many of our students will have a first-time opportunity to participate in one of Colorado's best known Recreational industries as a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Eldora Mountain Resort.  Even the chartered bus ride is a highlight of the day for many of them!  

IB Curriculum Night- Nov. 10

Join us for fun, information and to see what our students are learning and doing in their classrooms on Tuesday, November 10, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.  The evening will be divided into 3 sessions:

6:30-7:00 Session 1 in classrooms

7:00-7:30 Session 2 in classrooms

7:30-8:00 Parent update meeting in the gym

Penny Harvest Time

We are excited that the Penny Harvest has officially begun.  You will find information in your child’s recent Friday folder.  You will find a flyer and a sticker on a penny bag.  Please collect your pennies and return them to your classroom teacher before December 1st.  (And yes we accept silver coins and dollars, too) Last year we had a successful Harvest and gave two amazing grants.  $250 to the Make-a-Wish Foundation and $225 to Love Without Boundaries…..In the past 6 years of Penny Harvest, Central has given over

Firehawk Dash Schedule

Wednesday, October 7- TODAY is our Annual Firehawk Dash!  Here is the schedule:  

Remember that the times listed are to start running.  Students should arrive 5 minutes early to warm up and then allow time to cool down, record laps, enjoy popsicles and get a class photo after running.  All participants must wear appropriate footwear!  (No flip flops, sandals, etc)
