The 2013-14 school year will be my 7th year at Central Elementary. Prior to coming to Central, I was the principal of Westminster Elementary in the Adams 50 School District for 11 years. Prior to that I was an assistant principal in a middle school for three years and taught for three years as a 5th grade teacher in Houston, Texas. When I was still young and handsome, I worked as a teacher for 14 years in the Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I currently live in Westminster with my wife, Marta, a clinical specialist for a company that works with and provides relief for tinnitus sufferers. We have two sons - Jordan, who is working to become a police officer, and Andrew, who will be a junior at CU Boulder this fall. In our spare time we enjoy going up to the mountains, hiking, snowshoeing, and going out for breakfast at Panera!
As the principal of Central Elementary, I am truly blessed to work at such an amazing school with its rich history of educating the children of Longmont. The involved parents, the dedicated staff, and the fantastic kids give Central a tremendous feeling of family and community! It truly is a GREAT place to be! I look forward to another year of working together to provide our students with a 21st century education and critical thinking skills, and to instill in them the inquisitiveness and passion for life-long learning that will prepare them to be successful citizens in a global society.
