Bio
Ms. Marquez was born and raised in Longmont, Colorado.  She is a St. Vrain Valley School District alumni and is thrilled to be working in the district she graduated from.  After high school, she attended Metropolitan State University of Denver and received her Bachelor of Arts degree and Licensure in Elementary Education.  Currently, Ms. Marquez is pursuing a Master's degree from the University of Colorado Denver, in Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education.  Ms. Marquez has been a teacher at Central Elementary since 2010, where she taught kindergarten for one year before transitioning to being a third-grade teacher.  When Ms. Marquez is not at Central, she enjoys gardening, taking long walks or bike rides, spending time with her pet parrots, and cooking.  What Ms. Marquez likes about her work:  “What I like the best about being a teacher is that every single day is different.  Each day is an opportunity to try something new, make mistakes, learn and grow.  I love learning from my students, and I hope they leave third-grade feeling heard, safe, and valued.”
