The 2020-21 school year is my 14th year at Central Elementary. Prior to coming to Central, I was the principal of Westminster Elementary in the Adams 50 School District for 11 years. Prior to that I was an assistant principal in a middle school for three years and taught for three years as a 5th grade teacher in Houston, Texas. When I was still young and handsome, I worked as a teacher for 14 years in the Grand Rapids Public Schools in Michigan.
I currently live in Westminster with my wife, Marta, a clinical specialist for a company that works with and provides relief for tinnitus sufferers. We have two sons - Jordan, works for a finance firm in the Tech Center, and Andrew, who works in the finance department of a law firm in downtown Denver. In our spare time we enjoy going up to the mountains, hiking, snowshoeing, and going out for breakfast at Panera!
As the principal of Central Elementary, I am truly blessed to work at such an amazing school with its rich history of educating the children of Longmont. The involved parents, the dedicated staff, and the incredible kids give Central a tremendous feeling of family and community! It truly is a GREAT place to be! I look forward to another year - as challenging as it is! - of working together to provide our students with a 21st century education and critical thinking skills, and to instill in them the inquisitiveness and passion for life-long learning that will prepare them to be successful citizens in a global society.
