St. Vrain high school students across the district have spent countless hours during and after school in preparation for their school's fall theater production. Watch our students' showcase their talent and hard work. Performances are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.
It has been an outstanding start to the 2018-2019 academic year and I want to express my deep appreciation to our community for your continued partnership and support in advancing student achievement. In Colorado and across the United States, St. Vrain Valley Schools is leading the conversation on how to build a highly-successful public education system that is not only giving our students a strong competitive advantage for their future success, but also having a significant impact on the economic growth and overall health of our community.
St. Vrain Valley Schools is one of the fastest growing and most innovative school districts in the nation. This is a result of strong leadership and a commitment to strengthening infrastructure, technology, high-quality instruction and overall student achievement.
This success is also built upon interconnected partnerships with our teachers, staff, students, parents, business and corporate partners, and elected officials. As St.
Central will host the 2018-2019 Back to School Open House on Monday, August 13, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Students and families can see the classrooms and meet the teachers. Class rosters will be posted for grades 1-5 on Friday, August 10. A community gathering will be held with our PTO on the playground area after the open house. Bring the family and reacquaint with friends and neighbors!
All area box stores that carry school supplies have the new SVVSD school supply lists. Students will mostly have their supplies co-mingled in the classrooms, so there is no need to put the child's name on any items other than their backpack and school box. Crayons-To-Calculators free backpacks will be available after August 6. Those backpacks offer the majority of the school supplies, but not all. One of the most important institutions in our society is public education. Of the approximately 55 million K-12 aged children in the United States, it is estimated that 90 percent are enrolled in public schools. Second only to parenting, the longstanding institution of public education will have the greatest influence on America’s future.
In Colorado, we’ve experienced an ongoing discussion around the adequacy of resources for our public schools with mixed results.
Students and families throughout our communities will be able to access free lunches this summer. Meals will be provided to any child under the age of 18. Adults with a child will be able to eat at "no charge" until funding dollars run out.
Meals will be provided at Countryside Village, Roth Rock Dell Park, Kanemoto Park, Carr Park and the Longmont Youth Center. Please review the flyer for days, times and activities.
As we approach the end of the school year we at District Technology Services want to let you know that your student's Trimester 3 elementary report cards will be available on the Infinite Campus portal the morning of May 24th, the last day of school. It is only possible to see the elementary report cards on a computer. They will not display on any mobile device.
