Public Safety Meeting

There have been incidents of vandalism in the neighborhood, which have included Central Elementary School and First Lutheran Church.

We’ve spoken to our LPD beat supervisor and beat officer, and they’ve agreed to speak to us all about keeping our neighborhood safe.

Education Foundation for the St Vrain Valley Encore Awards

Please take a moment to consider nominating a Central teacher for an Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley Encore Award.  The nomination information is available in our February 19 Friday e-folder.  Nominations are due by March 15.  Forms may also be found at www.efsvv.org click on programs; Encore Awards and then the nomination form.  Central has an amazing group of dedicated teachers, who would sincerely appreciate your nomination!

Central Science Fair

Thursday, February 18, 2016, will be the annual Science Fair at Central.  Students are to set up exhibits between 3-5 pm, and then the Science Fair will be held from 6:00-7:30 pm in the Central Cafeteria.  Families are welcome to come and visit the Science Fair to see the exhibits and experiments from 1st-5th graders!!

Three Non-Student Contact days scheduled in February.

Central Elementary will be closed to students on the following dates:

Friday, Feb. 12 - Staff compensation for conferences

Monday, Feb. 15 - President's Day holiday

Friday, Feb. 26 - Teacher work day per contract

Just as an FYI~  There are NO school closures scheduled in March!  Other than the March 2 LATE START, March will have a normal daily schedule.

Student Led Conferences- Feb. 9, 10, 11

Central's Student-led conferences will begin Tuesday, February 9, and continue for the next two nights, Wednesday and Thursday, February 10 and 11.  Conferences are scheduled between 3:30 - 8:00 pm, unless other special accomodations were made with your child's teacher.  Ms. Marquez's AM kindergarten schedule is different than the other classes. See the blue half sheet with your child's scheduled day and time!

Friday is Bronco Orange Day

Friday, February 5, will be Central's Spirit Day..WEAR ORANGE (or Bronco colors) to support the Denver Broncos as they get ready to play the Carolina Panthers in the Super Bowl on Sunday!  It is just a fun spirit day, not a fund raiser!

STUCO Winter Warmth Contest

Next week, January 25-29, Central will participate in the "Warm Winter Clothing"  competition against Longmont Estates Elementary. Each classroom will have a box for collections and Student Council representatives will come by daily to gather donations. We are taking any clothing that will keep someone warm. Try to brainstorm ideas with your students and plan to go through closets this weekend. The "celebration" will be at Central on Friday after school in the cafeteria.

Crazy Sock Day for RSD Awareness

The Central Community is encouraged to join us on Friday, January 22, for CRAZY SOCK DAY!  Crazy Sock day is a way to raise awareness for RSD, (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome), which is a disease which Mrs. Palmer's sister is fighting.  Help us spread awareness for RSD and wear your mis-matched or wild and crazy socks on Friday!  (Please also wear shoes!!)  See: #CrazySocksAtCFC #CrazySockDayforMelanie #CRPSAwareness

No School Friday, January 15 or Monday, January 18

There will not be school for students or staff on Friday, January 15.  This is compensation for working Parent Conferences.  Monday, January 18, schools are closed in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
